Zijie Xie (b. Fujian, China) is a London/Shanghai-based interdisciplinary new media artist working across interactive installation, speculative design, and immersive digital environments. Her practice examines how technological and social systems shape human behaviour, identity, interpersonal relationships, and human–nature relations.

Her recent works include Conformity Compiler (2025), an interactive installation exploring language, technological mediation, and social conformity; Acquaintance Circuit (2025), which examines the fragility of interpersonal relationships through gesture recognition and mechanical interaction; MECS System (2025), a speculative ecological system imagining how access to multisensory plant environments might be governed on Mars; and HerPower (2025), an immersive VR environment exploring female agency, identity, and self-development.

Alongside her artistic practice, Zijie has over six years of professional experience across visual, interaction, and experience design. She holds a BA in Visual Communication Design from Jiangnan University and is currently completing an MA in Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
